Every-ListPrivacy Policy
Every-List LLC ("Every-List," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Every-List mobile application (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. This Policy is incorporated into and should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
Every-List is intentionally limited in the personal information it collects directly from you. When you create an account and use the Service, we collect:
- Email address — used to create and secure your account, for account-related communications, and to allow you to invite other people to share lists or recipes with you.
- Name — your first and last name, used to identify you within the app.
- Username — a unique handle you choose at sign-up. Once set, it cannot be changed.
- Display name (optional) — a freeform name you may set instead of your actual name. When set, it is shown to other Users everywhere your name would otherwise appear (see Section 3).
- Bio (optional) — a short freeform description you may add to your profile.
- Profile photo (optional) — a photo you choose to upload for your account.
- User Content — the lists and recipes you create, including item and ingredient details, quantities, prices you choose to enter, notes, and any photos you attach to a list item or a recipe, along with any content shared with you by other Users through collaborative or shared lists and recipes.
- Location text (optional) — an address or map link you may type or paste into a list's or item's optional "location" field (e.g., "where to buy this" or "where this event is"). This is text you enter yourself — the Service does not access your device's GPS or track your real-time location.
- Time zone — your device's time zone is captured automatically when you sign in, so that due-date reminders are scheduled at the correct local time for you. This is not user-editable.
- Push notification token — if you enable notifications, we register a device token (via Apple/Google's push notification systems, through Expo's push notification service) so we can deliver notifications to your device. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.
Email addresses of people you invite. If you invite someone to a list or recipe, or send a friend request, by email or username, we collect the email address or username you enter to identify who you're inviting. If that person doesn't yet have an Every-List account, their email address is used solely to deliver an invitation (see Section 4) and is not used for any other purpose, retained for marketing, or shared beyond what's needed to deliver that invitation.
We do not currently use any third-party analytics or crash-reporting service. If we add one in the future, we will update this Policy to describe what's collected before doing so.
We do not collect payment card information directly; Subscription payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, as applicable, in accordance with their own privacy policies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above only to:
- Create, maintain, and secure your account;
- Enable core features of the Service, including creating, storing, and syncing your lists and recipes;
- Enable you to invite other people to collaborate on or view shared lists and recipes, and to deliver those invitations by email when the recipient doesn't yet have an account;
- Deliver push notifications you've opted into;
- Schedule due-date reminders at the correct local time for you;
- Communicate with you about your account, Subscription, or the Service (e.g., support requests, service notices);
- Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your email address or name for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the Service.
3. Display Name
You may set a display name that is shown to other Users instead of your actual name. When a display name is set, your actual name is not exposed to other Users through the Service.
Your email address is never shown to other Users within the app.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address or name with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.
We use a limited number of third-party service providers to operate the Service, each of whom is only permitted to use your information to provide their service to us:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform — hosts our database, file storage (for photos), authentication, and backend functions. This is where your account information, User Content, and photos are actually stored.
- Resend — our transactional email provider, used to deliver invitation emails (including to people who don't yet have an Every-List account) and account-related emails.
- RevenueCat — manages Subscription status once you purchase Premium, in conjunction with the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Apple and Google — process Subscription payments (see Section 1) and deliver push notifications to your device.
We may also share information:
- Legal Requirements. If required to do so by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business Transfers. If Every-List LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a policy providing at least equivalent protections.
Your User Content (lists and recipes) is shared with other Users only when you affirmatively choose to share or collaborate on it.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your account information and User Content are stored on secure servers operated in the cloud (see Section 4). We maintain commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a security breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulators as required by applicable law.
The Service includes features to export your User Content; availability of a given export method (e.g., sharing, printing) may vary by device and platform.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and User Content for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we delete your account data — including your profile, the lists and recipes you own, and photos you've uploaded — from our active systems within a commercially reasonable time, except that we may retain limited information as required by law, for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution, or as reflected in backup systems until those backups are cycled out in the ordinary course.
An invitation you send (or receive) — including the recipient's email address, if they don't yet have an account — remains on file until it is accepted, declined, or cancelled by either party. It does not expire automatically.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and Correction. You may review and update your name, display name, username (before it's locked), bio, profile photo, and email address at any time in the app's account settings.
- Deletion. You may delete your account at any time, which will delete your account data as described in Section 6.
- Display Name. You may set or change your display name at any time to control what other Users see.
- Notifications. You may disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
Depending on your state or country of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (for example, the right to request a copy of your data or to request deletion). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@every-list.com.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@every-list.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
